Autumn – Poem
Charlotte is 8 years old. She loves writing and wants to be an author when she grows up. Charlotte and her mum were sitting in the grounds at Sandringham when she wrote this for her homework. Charlotte is a child, please respect her copyright. If you do repeat her words please give her the courtesy of acknowledgement.
What did you want to be when you were 8?
If you can remember, visit the blog WhenIwas8 (opens in new window) and tell its owner and creator, Lesley. She isn’t raising money directly but aims to encourage you to donate to a children’s charity of your own choice.

Norman,
Oh my, Charlotte has talent. That is a beautiful poem and shows a level of maturity way beyond 8 years of age.
Please tell her that I am terrifically impressed with her writing. I did as I like to do with poetry and recited it out loud. The words were melodic giving a real flavour of Autumn and showed true flair.
Lastly, I am chuffed beyond measure that it made you think of my blog and mentioned it.
If you don’t mind I will post Charlotte’s poem, only with her permission. Please let me know.
I am sure her parents are very proud, they deserve to be.
Take care.
Lesley
Thanks for your very kind words. I will pass on your compliments and request. Hope it generates some charitable donations and interest in the concept of your blog too.
Hi, Lesley, this is Charlotte’s mum, yes we are very proud of her and she says that she is more than happy for you to use her poem and she hopes that it helps to raise lots of money to help other boys and girls. Thanks for your lovely comments.
