The English Lake District – Keswick
The Lake District in the north west of England is just across the Scottish Border and only a few hours drive away. Needless to say the stunning scenery and unique character is a big draw. These photos feature Keswick, Derwent Water, Grange and Borrowdale.
No trip to Keswick is complete without a walk around the Derwent and these were taken on such an occasion. There is no guarantee what the British weather will do when planing a trip and being prepared for all types of weather in such places is a must!
Although it was dull, misty and wet there were still interesting things to photograph with the light providing its own atmosphere, picking out the tones across the water and the layered contours of the hills.
These photos were taken with a Sony s70 digital camera.
We have a word for this in Scotland, “drookit”.
After a day like that, what is better than a hot shower and to curl up with a hot coffee and a book?
