Autumn at Hermand Birchwood
Autumn photographs taken early in November 2011 at Hermand Birchwood near West Calder.
The strong low sun produced vivid colours, deep shadows and the peaceful location was so calm and tranquil.
As well as the golden browns of autumn there was still a lot of greenery around. Unusual in November.
Unfortunately a bit of lens glare here but the light catching the leaves is magical.
Harsh stark shadows make for high contrast, black and gold.
Moisture on a green fern catches the light.
A carpet of autumn gold.
Such a wonderful time of year. I took hundreds of images and couldn’t possibly put them all on here but I will post a few more in the near future.
These photographs were taken in November 2011 using a Fujifilm S5 DSLR. Shot in RAW format and processed in Photoshop CS2 ACR2.4
