The latest deals on Fujifilm’s X-Trans Compact System Cameras have made them more attractive than ever.
I’ve succumbed to the lure and ordered the Fujifilm X-M1 with 16-50mm kit lens from Amazon UK at an amazing price, the lowest so far. I just need to be patient now awaiting the delivery.
At the time of writing this post, the price of the black/black & silver model with kit lens is £469, payable at time of ordering. With the limited time offer of £100 credit for Amazon UK products, combined with Fujifilm UK’s limited time £100 cashback offer, the effective price is £269 (net £369 inc. Amazon credit).
When buying any product from any dealer, it is always good to remember that the price may come down in future, but it can sometimes go up too. Once the cashback and credit offers have expired I can’t see this deal price being equalled, at least not in the near future.
Update 17/1/14 – The Amazon promotion is over. The Fujifilm cashback offer still applies for a short time more on purchases from specified dealers (check the offer form). The current Amazon price is still the best price around and a good deal even without any ‘offers’.
Some other dealers have the same price and Fujifilm cashback offer but they don’t have the Amazon UK credit offer. Note that these offers only apply to Amazon UK stock and not to the marketplace or third party products.
Since buying a new camera usually means upgrading all the accessories that go with it, the £100 credit from Amazon UK should cover many of them. I will need to upgrade my RAW processing software, get a capable memory card, spare battery, new camera bag, camera case, etc. With the credit included, that will enable me to buy most of these within the net price.
This makes it a more attractive deal than the Fujifilm X-A1 so for those who appreciate and prefer the X-Trans system technology of the X-M1, this is a great offer.
Of course there are some people who think there isn’t very much difference between the X-A1 with Bayer sensor technology and the X-M1 with the X-Trans sensor technology. Perhaps there isn’t in real usage but I’m not going to debate that here. The bottom line is, this deal is too good for me to miss and a great way into the Fujifilm X System cameras with their class leading lenses. You can find out more using the advert links.
(If you are thinking about it please, check the respective terms and conditions to satisfy yourself that your purchase qualifies for the deals/offers and that you are happy with the details of the offers yourself).
This was too good for me to miss.
I’m in, are you?
